Greystone Ranch

Posted on: October 3rd, 2017 by Drew Colvin

The Greystone Ranch is a beautiful 74.08 acres, with a multitude of uses. Only 45 minutes to Austin, 35 minutes to Georgetown, and 20 minutes to the Highland Lakes. Burnet is a short 15 minute drive, and provides grocery shopping, restaurants, wineries, and medical facilities. Not too far are several championship golf courses, at Horseshoe Bay.

The gently undulating land has great views of the surrounding countryside and is very horse/cattle friendly. Most of the cedar and brush has been cleared, leaving areas with a park of live oaks. There is the potential for a series of ponds or a large lake and the meadows are perfect for improved grasses for livestock or food plots for game. Abundant wildlife, including deer and turkey.

Improvements consist of a 5,160 sq. ft. metal barn on a concrete slab. The building has 3 bay doors and is insulated and has electrical and plumbing connections in place. The barn can be finished out with an office, living quarters, party barn, in addition to equipment storage.

There is a partially remodeled 2 bedroom and 1 bath home, with metal roof, fireplace, and tile floors. The home is great for a weekend home or guest house.

The ranch is under a wildlife exemption and the 2016 taxes were $2,883.73.

If you are looking for a weekend getaway, recreational, horse, cattle ranch, or a place to build your dream home, the Greystone Ranch is worth a look. The owner will consider dividing.

School Creek Ranch

Posted on: September 9th, 2017 by Drew Colvin

One of the best live water ranches in the area. Located approximately 15 minutes from Lampasas and around 1 hour 15 minutes from Austin. Rolling topography with over 150 ft of elevation change and outstanding views from many locations. Most of the cedar has been cleared, leaving thickets of hardwoods, including live oak, Spanish oak, elm, pecan, Burr oak, and mesquite. Clear flowing School Creek meanders through the ranch. There are several dam sites on the 2,000+ ft of creek frontage. Additional surface water includes a beautiful multi-acre lake, stocked with bass (8-10 lb bass have been reported caught). The lake held up very well during the recent drought. There are two coastal fields along the creek and there is a good cover of native grasses. The ranch has a good mix of woods and open pasture. Deep wooded draws have seep springs and there are old dry stack rock walls above the fields.

Hunting and fishing is excellent. Game includes deer, turkey, dove, quail, ducks, and hogs.

There is a neat 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with two living areas, and screened in porch. The house was remodeled a few years ago and is an ideal weekend home. Water to the house is supplied by a well (approx. 50 GPM). A community water tap has been purchased and is available for use.

This ranch has a lot of variety packed into one place- great surface water, strong well, hills, draws, productive fields, and towering trees.

Oakalla Ranch

Posted on: September 7th, 2017 by Drew Colvin

Excellent value at $3,250 per acre! The Oakalla Ranch is a short and easy 45 minute drive from Austin and 35 minutes from Georgetown. Shopping and restaurants are 10 minutes away in Copperas Cove. If you are looking for a great hunting/recreational ranch, with lots of future upside, the Oakalla Ranch is worth a look.

The rolling topography has over 100 feet of elevation change and gives the land a much bigger feel than the actual acreage. Several locations offer long, scenic views. A cool rock bottom creek winds through the ranch and has the potential to create a great water feature, with a dam. There is heavy tree cover, consisting of live oak, elm, spanish oak, cedar and massive pecan trees in the creek bottom. There are large meadows that would be ideal food plots.

There is a small cabin and 2 wells.

Additional acreage available.

Reavis River Ranch

First time offering in over a century. The Reavis River Ranch is located around 45 minutes from Austin, on the Burnet and Bell County line. The ranch fronts paved CR 221, just off of FM 2657. Nearby Copperas Cove provides grocery shopping and restaurants. Killeen is around 20 minutes away and has mall shopping, restaurants, and a hospital.

The varied terrain gives the ranch a much bigger feel than the actual acreage. With over 100 feet of elevation change, there are big views from several locations. Gregory Creek meanders through the property and the water flows clear over the rock bottom. There are waterfalls, limestone bluffs, and has numerous dam sites. In addition to the creek there is frontage on the Lampasas River. Tree cover is fairly dense, providing excellent habitat for game. The open meadows are ideal for food plots. Along the river is a 50 acre coastal field. There are 4 wells.

Improvements include a nice 3-1 brick home (1,747 sq ft). The home is well suited for a weekend home or foreman's residence. There is also a small hunter's cabin.

The Reavis River Ranch has loads of character and offers a multitude of possibilities: from recreation, hunting, home place, or future development. This one is worth a look! By Appointment Only.
